For the love of dog

Hundreds of dogs, walking in the woods near the town of Beykoz, seem like hungry gangs. But the truth is these 'wild dogs' have been fed by the Goksu Evleri Animal Lovers since 2006. Stray dogs are fixed at the Beykoz dog shelter then are released into the woods. Volunteers and members of the Goksu Evleri Animal Lovers collect leftover food, bread and dog food from schools, bakeries and shopping malls, and feed these 'wild dogs' three days a week, stopping at various points along a route approximately 50km long. In addition to the help these organizations provide donating foodstuffs, the Beykoz dog shelter provides dog food and the Beykoz Mayorship contributes fuel/Dogan Emre
